Confirmation

God strengthens our souls in another way, through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Even though Jesus' disciples received grace before his Resurrection, on Pentecost the Holy Spirit came to strengthen them with new graces for the difficult work ahead. Then they went out and preached the gospel fearlessly and carried out the mission Christ had given them. Later, they laid hands on others to strengthen them as well. Through confirmation, you too are strengthened to meet the spiritual challenges in your life.

Eighth Grade Confirmation

Eighth-grade candidates are confirmed by the Bishop in the spring after completion of a three-year preparation program.

Adult Confirmation

Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation are the Sacraments of Christian Initiation.  Confirmation is considered the completion of baptismal grace.  Confirmation enriches the baptized with the strength of the Holy Spirit so that they can better witness to Christ in word and deed (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1285).

If you are a baptized Catholic, 19 or older and out of high school, who has received the First Communion we invite you to prayerfully consider preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Adults are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil.
