Christmas Reflection
Merry Christmas from COR!
I hope you encounter the joy and peace of the Lord this Christmas season. And don’t forget that Christmas is a season! When we remember and celebrate Christ’s birth into the world on December 24 or 25, we begin a beautiful season-long celebration, ending on January 8 (the Feast of the Epiphany).
There’s so much we could reflect on about Christmas, but I’ll stick with one small bit from the First Reading of the Christmas Eve Mass: “You shall be called by a new name pronounced by the mouth of the Lord. you shall be a glorious crown in the hand of the Lord, a royal diadem held by your God” (Isaiah 65:2-3).
We miss the point of Christmas if we miss two things: (1) God desires to be with us on earth and (2) God desires us to be with Him in heaven.
