Participating in the Sacraments at St. Mary's

Baptism
Baptisms are celebrated every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Parents must be active registered members of St. Mary's Parish. Parents are also required to attend a Parent Preparation session.  Fr. Mike McGovern, Pastor, is responsible for all baptism preparation.  Please call the Parish Office at (847) 234-0205 to begin the process.

Eucharist
The liturgical action called the Eucharist is also traditionally known as the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is at the heart of the Church's life. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Click here to review our Mass schedule.
Please let us know if there is someone who is confined to their home and unable to attend Mass with us in our Parish Church on Sunday. We would be happy to bring Communion. Please call the parish office at (847) 234-0205 or email jpeters@schoolofstmary.org to make arrangements.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Special arrangements can be made by contacting one of the priests for times other than Saturday. Click here to see our upcoming times for reconciliation.

Confirmation
Eighth grade candidates are confirmed by the Bishop in the spring and adults are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. For additional information please contact the Religious Education Office at (847) 234-0090 or Office@restmary.com.

Marriage (Weddings at St. Mary's)
Arrangements for the celebration of marriage must be made at least six months in advance. We urge you to contact our parish office before making arrangements with reception halls, etc. Preparation includes participation in a pre-marriage program held locally or through the Archdiocese. All initial arrangements are to be made with a priest. Please call the parish office at (847) 234-0205 to speak with one of our priests.

Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate.
Currently we have three priests in residence at the Church of St. Mary: Fr. Michael McGovern, Pastor; Fr. Don Woznicki, Associate Pastor; and Fr. Stephen Grunow, Resident. We also have two permanent deacons: Joe Krakora and Jim Kenney. For further information please call (847) 234-0205.

Anointing of the Sick
If you or someone you know is seriously ill at home or in the hospital, one of the priests will bring the Eucharist and administer the Anointing of the Sick. Please call the parish office at (847) 234-0205 to make arrangements.
