Liturgical Aesthetics
Liturgical Aesthetics is a work of the Church which is concerned with the worship of God in Christ. It seeks to contribute to the truth, goodness and beauty of the Church’s liturgy. The work of Liturgical Aesthetics is catechetical inasmuch as it seeks to teach the truths of the Faith in visual forms; it is evangelical inasmuch as it bears testimony to Christ and the mysteries of his identity and mission; it is aesthetic as it is concerned with how things appear—but it is more than mere decoration, it is visual articulation of the Church’s rich theological and liturgical tradition.
The Liturgical Aesthetics Committee is a working group. We pray, study and participate in those actions that will ensure the beauty of the Church’s liturgy.
