Events Ordered by Date

24 Hours of Grace
Friday, March 11th at 9:00 a.m. to Saturday, March 12 at 9:00 a.m.

24 Hours of Grace at St. Mary's begins on Friday, March 11th at 9:00 a.m. The church will be open for a full day, with priests hearing confessions around the clock - morning, noon and night. A priest will be available for the Sacrament of Penance in church from 9:00am Friday, March 11 through 9:00am, Saturday, March 12.

Please consider this invitation to discover the mercy of our Lord. Whether it has been many years since you last confessed your sins in this sacrament, or if you were here before Christmas, this is a generous opportunity to be forgiven by Christ.

Booklets that will help you prepare for confession are available at the doors of the church.

Stations of the Cross
Every Friday in Lent, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the church

Each Friday at 7:00pm we will make the Stations of the Cross in church. These fourteen meditations prayerfully retrace the steps of Jesus on Good Friday. We listen to the scripture accounts of the passion and accompany the Lord from being condemned by Pilate to his death and burial. This traditional devotion takes about thirty minutes and is an excellent way to be united with the Lord during Lent. Booklets are provided.

Reading for Lent
Book Club

Father Mike is encouraging a sort of "book club" that will read the same book during Lent. Our text is  The Lord by Romano Guardini. Romano Guardini's lectures and writings had a significant impact on a young priest named Joseph Ratzinger. Commenting on Guardini's book, the then Cardinal Ratzinger noted that for Guardini: "to become truly real means to come to know Jesus Christ and to learn from him what it means to be human." The different chapters of The Lord  keep leading us to that insight: if you wish to become a genuine human being, keep your gaze on Jesus, see how he lives and imitate him.
Copies of The Lord are available for purchase in the rectory office.
