Bible Study
Begins September 16, 2010

           St. Mary's Bible Study program will offer a study of Acts of the Apostles beginning in September. Come see how Christ empowered the apostles and early disciples to carry out His work in the world. The book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing, and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did while on earth. Join us to:

  • See how the Gospel witness spread outward in waves, from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
  • See how the Holy Spirit guided the apostles into Truth.
  • Observe the way the Church adapted to new cultures when proclaiming the Gospel.
  • Watch the seeds of the Church take root, and see how early conflicts were resolved.
  • Share with the early Christians the joys and struggles of living the life of Christ.
  • Learn how all of this applies to us today: find your place in the Church, and gain a deeper understanding of how you should live day-to-day as a disciple of Christ.

Classes will meet every Thursday morning OR evening from September 16 to March 17 in the Parish Center.

October is the time of harvest, and in the old country, it is a time for gathering and celebration. The Parish Life Committee will sponsor our 6th Annual Oktoberfest on Friday, September 24 from 6:00 pm to 11:00pm in the Green Bay Road church parking lot. Join your fellow parishioners and make this a night of Gemütlichkeit!
